Chartoreg Plus 40/12.5 mg combines Olmesartan medoxomil at 40 mg with Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg in a single daily tablet for the management of essential hypertension. Olmesartan selectively blocks angiotensin II receptors to reduce vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, while Hydrochlorothiazide reduces plasma volume through its diuretic action. This lower-dose combination is appropriate for patients starting dual-therapy or those with mild-to-moderate hypertension requiring extra blood pressure reduction. Well tolerated with once-daily administration.
